“We have to make our customer successful first,” has been a constant mantra at Gladding-Hearn since its founding in 1955. The philosophy that nothing leaves this yard unless it’s right is best illustrated by the number of repeat and new customers. Of more than 417 vessels built so far, 38 customers own 120 of our vessels. Here’s what some of them have to say…

“From our chairman and other board members to our staff, we couldn’t be more pleased with how this vessel came out. We look forward to the improved comfort, reliability and the better sea-keeping ability than our other vessels.”
Wayne Lamson, General Manager
Woods Hole, Martha’s Vineyard & Nantucket Steamship Authority

“In advertising for a new high-speed catamaran, we had hoped Gladding-Hearn would submit a competitive bid and it did. We knew of the Duclos family and its yard’s high-quality workmanship. There’s a strong comfort level there that’s important to us. Plus we got a design that will set new standards of both commuter service and whale watching in our region.”
Rick Nolan, General Manager
Boston Harbor Cruises

“All of the people at Gladding-Hearn are team players. They’re easy to work with, open to suggestions, and very proud of their work. With three fast ferries built there, we’ve gone forward with 100 new friendships.”
Skip Scudder
Hy-Line Cruises

“We now have five Gladding-Hearn boats. They’re dependable, well built, and our customers really like them. The yard is also easy to work with, responsive and stands behind the product.”
Tom Fox, President
New York Water Taxi

“This is our third pilot boat from Gladding-Hearn. It will be deployed offshore for search and rescue. The added length, beam and speed are sure to give us the comfort and safety we’re accustomed to from Gladding-Hearn.”
Capt. Rudy Cann
Department of Marine and Ports Services
Government of Bermuda

“Our boat operators say that no other pilot boat hangs alongside a ship like one from Gladding-Hearn.”
John Cameron, President
Southeast Ocean Response Services
Charleston Navigation Co.

“We liked the look of this boat, its size, heavy duty engines, performance, and competitive price. This was the first boat in its class, so it was even more impressive in my mind that everything worked so well.”
Jon Halvorsen
Galveston, Texas City Pilots

“When it comes to reliability, speed and strength, our new pilot boat is a superior performer. To put it bluntly, this boat is awesome.”
Capt. Thomas Brendle
Wilmington-Cape Fear Pilots
